Dot Day

 

Summary: In class, we did a project recognizing the power of imagination and encouraging other children to explore their creativity by making a dot in any form they want. Specifically, we made a heart shape out of cookie paper, used Crayola crayons to add our designs, and added watercolor for the background.

Extension: I could have the students create a design, pattern, or part of a circle and combine all the other three pieces from other students to form a dot.

 

Dot Project

For this project the theme was "the dot" which is starting art in any way starting with a dot, for my first one I did a heart water color one using a coffee ground filter, and for the second project I did bear paws with water color since I'm a very big animal person. 

In terms of a second idea or project I was thinking of having students int the 4-5th grade level make different patterns in a colored paper of their choice and they can use that as their main origami paper too make a simple bear paw. After that they can include more things to it more colors if they want.

Project #1: Footprint Introduction

- Description: Cut out the foot, use two different media, and use symbols and pictures to describe yourself.

- Extension Activity: Show and share 5 things that describe them; parents can find their kid's footprints during open house while heading to their classrooms; they could also meet with another student in another class, and they can try to guess their symbols and write them on paper. 

Music logo- I enjoy listening to Afrobeat and Lofi-type music.

Arm logo- I work out a lot to keep myself active daily; I usually work out 5 days a week.

Polvault logo- I enjoy vaulting for the NSU track and field team; it's like flying without wings. 

Clown logo- I'm funny sometimes. 

Tortoise logo- I am a huge animal and insect person, so I added my tortoise. Her name is Kimby, and her main hobby is eating and sleeping 24/7

I added flowers because I enjoy being outside, especially in the summer.
